Inside Food Photo Series

on the search for new perspectives…

…with our ongoing food photo series we are having a closer look on things – an inside look. Reflecting the essential challenge of our work which is the continuous search for a unique perspective in food photography. One might think that the options in this particular field of photography may be limited. But that could not be further from the truth. It is all just a matter of inspiration…

One day we came across a video composed of action scenes captured by GoPro cameras. It caught our attention right away due to the special point of view and feeling of being right in the middle of the scene where the action takes place. So we went ahead and adapted it to our food photography – the result of which you can see in this frequently updated “inside food” photo series.

Being right there where the action is – inside the food. Facing the ingredients on an “eye – level”. It certainly seems to provide a different feeling for the subject.

Bits of cheese larger than life, casually standing around… Something rather different than the good old nicely presented dish surrounded by antiques.

How about finding yourself standing in the middle of a cake party, as little as a crumb. Watching huge chunks of cake being forked around the air. Getting a bit of an “Alice down the Rabbit Hole” feeling, one might expect the “Mad” Hatter around the next corner.

Have you ever been wondering what it looks like being on the bottom of a fruit salad served in a carved out melon? Probably not so much… Not really the question one tends to ask oneself I suppose. But there you are, these are exactly the things with which we (food photographers & stylists) concern ourselves on a regular basis.

Well, you get the idea. Suddenly one finds oneself on the other side of the plate, so to speak. Looking up rather then forking down. Opening up endless possibilities for new stories. Which we intend to pursue in the future. So hopefully there will be soon some new images to add to our “inside food” photo series. We will certainly be on the lookout for new angles!
