Saffron rice

  • 1/4tsp Saffron
  • 300g Basmati rice
  • 1 Bio orange
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • Salt
  • Vegetable oil
  1. Grind the saffron to powder and mix with 1-2tsp warm water
  2. Sauté the rice in a pan with hot oil.
  3. Add 700ml water and bring to boil.
  4. Add the bay leaf and a pinch of salt.
  5. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the saffron water and let simmer for another 8-10min.
  7. Add the grinded orange peel.
